Beware of the 3CPO Mailmen!!

Friday, March 9th, 2007

-  In honor of the 30th anniversary, Star Wars had joined forces with the postal system. If you take look, you just might notice that R2D2 will showing up by the masses, to happily take your mail.  With all this celebration, will mailmen begin designing like C3PO while they are in route? That would actually make this idea kinda cool. For now, just a little sad…

Just Don’t Think About Peeing…

- Emotiv, the newly created Austrailian company does not think we should bother playing games with our hands anymore. They are working on the future… Project Epoc uses your brain to dictate your game play. Think it will stink?? Well, don’t tell that to the Austrailian government… they just footed in over a million dollars in funding!! This is were I can envision Nintendo eventually get there hands on it, creating a useless movie plot to launch both a long awaited game and a new controller!! ” I love the PowerCap. It’s so bad…

Indie iTunes

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

- It seems the doors to iTunes are slowly opening wider. Recently, a 30 minute movie called “That” has been released onto the site… by an independent filmmaker!! Yep, it seems that the power of being the great and powerful movie studio will not remain in control over at Apple. Well, I have yet to run across more aspects to confirm the idea, but I pray that more independents and obscures have a shot to not only promote through one of the largest media downloading sites, but also profit a little as well. Sounds like a nice idea, doesn’t it??

-  Have you truly become bored with your old Atari setup? Do you need a new use for them aside from collecting dust? Well, here one idea posted over at Hang & Play… Granted the idea is not up for mass production yet, but in view of the picture, it doesn’t look as if creating them yourself would be that hard to do… Now get to making me one please!!

Spider-Man… Represent!!

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

http://duzty.com/pictures/spiderman.gif- Well, Hasbro has been a staple for children’s imagination and learning for years. With that, I’m sure everyone’s seen Isty Bitsy Spider-Man by now… Eh? Well, I caught the commercial on television last night (by luck, my TV was on mute…), and all I saw was Spider-Man, shaking back and forth, flash gangs signs. Check this other video to get the full idea of the web slinger’s action. All I could think of was why Spider-Man is representing “westside” out of New York? He better quit hatin’….

- I was wandering around online, as usual, and what do I find today? The Human Skateboard. The website, EatPES.com, has several different commercials and shorts. A majority of the work is stop animation. Actually, there work it very recognizable… They’ve been responsible for the recent Barcardi commercials. Click on over and check these out…

How Much Will it Weigh?!?

Friday, February 16th, 2007

- You’ve seen them… Of course, how can you not notice a Hummer rolling by? Well, the luxury SUV designers have hooked with Modelabs Group to create a line of mobile phones. When asked about what to expect– Hummer pointed out that “..this colaboration will bring Modelab’s durability and high performance alongside of Hummer’s rugged design.

- Honestly? You know this thing will probably just as expensive. Alas, durability? Check… Interesting look? Check… Phone capabilities anywhere in the world? Check… A short battery life and too damn big and bulky to want to carry around for realistic purposes in life? Big check on that one…

- I would hope everyone here remembers Radiohead’sCreep“?? Well, she has return to the surface of the internet again, this time in the form of a flash animation. Monkee Hub presents a video of the acoustic version, based on the characters from Low Morale. The entire video keeps simple, but grow literally into something sharp. Thumbs up guys… keep it coming!!

Best of ‘06

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

- Yeah, I know it’s February, but it seems that everyone else has manages to put in their two cents in when it comes to movie watching… So, throw you guys my best list. Well, here we go…

TOP TEN OF 2006

10. Devil Wears Pradahttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie10.gif
- You can’t give me guff about this… the acting was intelligent, and you know it had to outshined the book. Plus, it was just smart. I don’t believe was the greatest, but it just happened to slip in. You can complain about my choice in the comments if you don’t like it…

9. Monster Househttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie09.gif
- I had a conversation several years ago about the outlook of animation films. This film has begun to disapprove previous theories. Feature length animation can have a serious, even grim feeling to it. Monster House was clever, well thought, and has a Burton feeling… without the Burton.
8. How To Eat Fried Wormshttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie08.gif
- One of favorite books as a kid. Now granted, many children books are in the works right now, but this one didn’t make me cringe. And that there is what made me like it more. It wasn’t pressured to “CGI throttled” cinema. It didn’t rank anywhere with any other list, because no one realized the potential. I say… realize it.
7. Clerks 2http://duzty.com/pictures/movie07.gif
- Not the greatest comeback, but I can say it is a start on the right path. Unfortunately, Smith had those overshadowing films that he needed to overcome. He’ll even admit to it as he was filming. Aside from that, it made me laugh… And that doesn’t happen alot with today’s film.
6. Hard Candyhttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie06.gif
- This film interested me from the trailer. Clever, sharp-tongued, and the twists were actual twists. I won’t give away things here, but this film did not stop in pace. The revelations, the dialogue, the jaw dropping ending… All I can say is check it out at least one… you won’t be disappointed.
5. Akeelah and the Beehttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie05.gif
- I am not a big fan of Starbucks, when it comes to Akeelah, mabe they should stick to movie making. This film had alot of heart… and I liked that. Plus, I know it was this powerhouse idea to motivate youth in their education, but regardless, it was cute. Good acting, good feeling, good movie.
4. Curious Georgehttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie04.gif
- This film despells another myth the media has created… 2D animation is not dead. Actually, after most major animation studio packed in things, I kinda rejoiced. Now, more than ever, any 2D animation that made to the big screen would infact had a nice look to it, accompanying a well thought out story. Now Will Ferrell aside, great movie… can’t wait to see more like this. And to be honest, you can never go wrong with a monkey…
3. The Departedhttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie03.gif
- I gone through most of Scorsese’s work… and to be honest, I may have to roll through it again. I am older, and his previous work never attached to me as a kid. With every jammed packed star in this, I was not disappointed, right down the that finish!! The amazing thing was… the screen didn’t feel crowded with all these top names… which is a first, unlike the upcoming Oceans 13, or Smokin’ Aces… I hope one the Oscar nods are picked up for this…
2. The Pursuit of Happynesshttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie02.gif
- This film actually got to me. I walk right alongside Smith’s performance. I hadn’t heard the greatest for fellow friends, and yet I still wanted to know. Wow… I know what that feeling is like. Granted it may not be the exact details of my life, but I know the bite of failure, and that one moment that changes everything as you know it. Simply put, this is a movie worth experiencing. Nuff’ said.
1. Brickhttp://duzty.com/pictures/movie01.gif
- I have been an eccletic for a while now… I watch, even if I know it might be bad. When I check out the trailers and such for Brick, I only was interested to see what teen genre film has been thrown to the masses. I was completely wrong. Loved it… This was film noir… I almost did not believe it at first, figuring this was some rip off of a crime thriller from the fifties… oh no. Geniunely smart and slick. If you don’t see this one, I will have to beat you down… or something.

- Well, that’s it for now… hopefully later this week, I will be sure to dump my worst of 2006 here… trust me, I will talk even more on how much I loath them… Anyway, gimme what you should be up above or not. Or gimme more cannon fodder for the worst catagory… Lemme hear ya say…
