Gut Busting…

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

- Okay, this guy may seem to be a little squeemish, but I think it’s a cute way to learn too… Gnagno is a new plush pet, which you can open up to play with his little plush insides too. He got the majors… intestines, liver, lungs, brain, and heart… which is played alot into an interesting concept here. This is the type of toy you help children learn a little with, but they have something they can hug and sleep with, and all sorts of stuff… I dunno, I really am growing attached to this idea… Check it out!!

Sigg Jones

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

- Yes, this has been popping up in many places… and yet, I still can’t help but watch it over and over again… Sigg Jones is the work of several students at the animation school Supinfocom… a place known to belt out some high-class works. What stands out in “Jones” is sharp character creation and animation… interwoven with video game style action. Almost feels like two vinyl characters brought to life… All I can say is… LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!! … And now, I think I will watch it again…

- A good friend of mine and fellow Mojizu member Duzty looks to be making himself a little more noticeable these days. While some of his work has been popping up in various places, he has modified the shirt design that he won over Mojizu and is taking to the people. His preorder looks to wrap up around the end of this month, but you all still have time to get in on this amazing looking shirt!! Here a quick snip from the page…

With Monkey Junkie, you’ll never have to explain your passion again, we say it for you!! You will now have the ability to find others who share in you craving of monkeys also. And finally, each Monkey Junkie comes with your own monkey… No more long, lingering goodbyes at the zoo!

10 Second Start Up

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

http://duzty.com/pictures/machine.gif- Another call has gone out, with no time to spare in the creation. Machines is an animated jam session sponsered by the Toronto Animated Image Society. In the TAIS Anijam, one must complete a ten second animation between April 13th and May 15th, using whatever they wish to use, representing their ideal of the topic of machines. All one needs to do is head over to their site, fill out the submission form, and get animating… no fees apply! Yeah, it might take some work, but I think this is another great opportunity to give yourself something to create, and enter for a little more street cred… Head on out there!!

Power to the Little People…

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

- Recently, the 11th annual Webby Awards nominees have posted, giving nods to the many spectrums of sites running today. One of the catagories have come to my attention today… Community. Out of the five selected, there seems to be one who does not have deep pockets, like their competition. COLOURlovers remains true form in the world of art… with its own unique twist. This community shares the outlook on the way color is used in today’s world… the way it affects and defines us. Basically, you have a passion for color, this is the place to relate to other visually keen aritsts, developers, and professionals.

- What I would find more interesting, is the little company standing in line with nominess like Flickr, Threadless, Delicious, and Yahoo should not only earn the respect of its nomination, but should also slide away with the win. Why? Simple… “This isn’t ‘I Win, They Lose.‘ All of them have already won. They’re milions of dollars. They’ve made it.” stated Darius Monsef, founder of the site. And in all honesty, the additional relief projects (Hands On Worldwide) co-created by Monsef only proves that COLOURlovers has the stuff of dreams and heart in the right place.

- So the best I can say is to go and support the tiny idea that is making resounding waves online. It is time that the truest form of loving what you do should be acknowledged for knowing how to do it.

Love & Hate…

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

- It seems to look like Hellobard has been up to all kinds of work lately… First, he pops up at PopCling, with some sweet wall designs. Then, the Stupid Tank vinyl has come into the spotlight. Now where else can he start to take over?? How about his own shoe line? From his site, it seems that the few mention here are just a tip of the iceberg. I think he’s on his way to rule the world of design. Makes me torn… It is great to see some nice style and design from fellow artists… but why can’t it just happen to me as well?? WHY?!?

- Hopefully… We continue to see more of what Hellobard’s world is like in the future…

Monster By Mail…

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

- YouTube is becoming a synonymous place for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talents for the world to see. One such example is Monsters By Mail, a slick idea by Len and Nora of JawBone. Vistors can send in suggestions of adjective for a mere $20, and Len will create a fitting monster to it. The project is in motion to help raise funds for his wife’s coming birth. From searching both his Flickr and YouTube, it looks to me as if he sits at thirty-four currently… Len plans to stop once he reaches 150.

- I only had time to view a few of the video creations, but I have to say that this is very clever work. I will definitely be sitting in for the remain of his uploads and work, cause this a nice way to fuel your creativity for a solid purpose, and have fun in the same place. I think I may have to do something like this… cause I want to have fun too!
