Friday, December 29th, 2006

- If you haven’t checked out Stripfight ever, now’s your chance. Over the last 99 competitions, some of the coolest artists have entered some rather interest ideas and concepts. Here’s a list for you, just in case this place is news to you… Dean Trippe, Brian Fukushima, Mike Stevens, Ive Sorocuk, Robin Bougie, and Weatherwise… There may be only two days left to put a comic together, but I say get it done and join in on the fun!! See ya next year…

Blond or Brunette?

Archie Redesign 2007-With desperate times, comes desperate changes. For over 50 years, Archie and the gang have maintained iconic status, mainly because they have not changed one iota, unlike so many other comics that have existed. But with a dramatic slump in sales, the company has decided to stylize the comic’s look to today. Now, Archie looks like he could have a real chance with either Betty or Veronica, but with Veronica looking a little butch(pictured left), and Betty’s new “Spears-esque” look, I think it maybe a no brainer… And the debate continues on…

- What do you get when you take Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo, and throw in a product placement for Nissin’s CupNoodle?? Project Freedom is mildly hard to decipher without knowing Japanese, yet Nissin has taken a bold move in commissioning Otomo to throw in the well known product for advertisment and animation beauty. After watching Akira bonus features and footage, I have to say that Otomo is crazy… but in that Type A personality kind of way…

Pac-Man on Hwy. 55

- According to the Star Tribune in Minnesota, Pac Man has a temporary home on Highway 55. It seems as if someone has painted the giant rendition of the 80’s icon inbetween ovals placed down for instructing proper spacing protocol between drivers. While some officals do not see this as anything funny, most people around the area can’t help but laugh a little… besides, it’s helping prevent tailgating even more, and it’s generating buzz for the town. I think cars are slowing down, trying to determine if the oval is just an oval, or if it might be a power pellet…

- In the last few days, more holiday information and videos has been surfacing. Rather than trying to catch them all and respond to them, I decide to stick to something cooler and simplier…

- Pascal has not been overexposed and should not be underappreiciated. While creating visually stunning imagery, with sorts of various characters in tow… He also has a knack for create all kinds of flash animation, simple to complex…

- To kick off into the long weekend, here is alittle holiday Pascal with Feliz Navidad & Merry Christmas.

Animation Worth Crying Over…

- Actually I located this animation as I was nosing through the worst place, MySpace. There are too many things that agitate me, but I will forgive when I find little gems of visual wonder. Then, as I continue down the rabbithole for its origin, I discover it placed on YouTube, Atom Films, Google Video, and so on…. How old is this work?!?

- Well, unlike most, I actually search for the origin of art, especially when I am rehashing it for you guys. The animator’s name is Bernard Derriman. As I found the original site, I was happy and angry… Happy that my search ended in success, but angry at those who have compressed it over and over for the masses without giving credit to the orginator. All I can say is… Bernard, top notch work. For the rest of you artists, follow the trail of your own work sometimes… It’s not being full of yourself, it’s just smart…

All is Deadly in the Hallows…

J.K. Rowling- Well, the title is out on Book Seven for the masses, and rumors continue to fly for the fate of well known wizards and witches at Hogworths. I have been in and out of the series… there is interest there, but then again… Maybe I am losing my child-like imagination to stay focused to this series.  I’ll let you know…

Spielberg In Disguise??

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

- Uploading quickly on fan boards and forums in the last twenty fours has been the release of the UK trailers for the upcoming Transformers movie. From what I have seen, it looks to me that for the most part, it should be interest to see once out, but then there’s Michael Bay… If anything, I pray that with Spielburg in Executive Producer chair, someone with good ol’ showmanship, will keep Bay from giving us “Bad Transformers: We’re Stuck Behind a Rock, on the Island near Pearl Harbor”… Seriously, he should of stuck with Playboy Centerfold Videos

New School… Yeah, This is Old School…

- Well, Steve Jobs and the talent over at Apple weren’t fast enough to think up this brillant idea!! Here’s the lowdown… Colin Ashe got bored with Apple’s version of the iPod Shuffle, so he cracked open an old NES controller and jammed the Shuffle components in… PRESTO!! After reconfiguring some of the intial setups to coordinate with the button on the controller, Ashe brought a little old school with him… Great story… but then someone swiped it from him… NOOOOO!!!

Mac Users Rejoice… They’re Back…

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

- After a few years of silence, Iomega has stepped back into the light with Macintosh. With zip drives far out off the technological loop, bigger and better storage is now available. Offering the UltraMax desktop drive (1 TB storage) and the portable “Black” drive (120 GB storage), Iomega is once again bridging the bond between Mac user and the love of massive amounts of space. Now, I can look forward to tossing these ACOM Data drives, cause they have given me nothing but problems…
